Our community is about us, who we are, and what we do to help one another. We give special thanks for the community of 2nd graders at the Windham Primary School who showed the way at the RSU 14 Community Day by raising $2,181.50 to help the rescued horses at the MSSPA. Our Windham community is made up of fine people who help keep all of us healthy, safe, and educated. MSSPA is proud to be a part of that community and to do its part, along with great local businesses like Hall Implement, Sebago Lakes Automotive, and Horsepower Auto Care, in contributing to the good of our community.
Please join the 2nd graders at the Windham Primary School in celebrating a great success! The students toured the horse shelter last fall, meeting some of the horses who had experienced abuse or neglect. They also learned hands-on about the rehabilitation process and what it takes to properly care for a horse of your very own. Kathy Woodbrey, the Society’s Assistant CEO then enjoyed an opportunity to spend time in the 2nd grade classrooms, working to strengthen the students’ understanding of the connection between self and community, how taking good care of yourself and your loved ones translates to taking good care of our community.
Join our circle of caring and visit the Society, New England’s premier shelter for abused, neglected horses and see how each dollar raised goes directly to the care and feeding of the horses here. The MSSPA is open daily, 1 – 4 p.m. During June, July, and August, the shelter is open from 1 – 6 p.m. each day and welcomes the public to meet the horses.
