When?
We welcome visitors on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. One-hour reservations allow time for a leisurely walk around the farm on your own, or with a volunteer tour guide. Available dates and times are shown on the calendar below. Simply register for the time that works for you!
Who?
One time slot can accommodate up to 8 individuals, including children.
Where?
At 279 River Road in Windham, the home of the MSSPA. Before or after your visit, you are welcome to use our picnic tables equipped with umbrellas for a snack or lunch. Restrooms are available in the Visitor Center.
How?
Visitors are welcome to bring their own food and beverages. Please plan to carry out all refuse; leave nothing behind but your hoofprints! Glass bottles, alcoholic beverages, drugs, smoking, and vaping are strictly forbidden on MSSPA property. We suggest sturdy footwear in all seasons, hats and sunscreen in the summer and warm gear in the winter. No picnic? No problem! You’re also welcome to simply walk the property during your scheduled time slot. The MSSPA horses are excited to make new friends and will approach the fence for love, however we request that snacks or treats for the horses are left at home, as many of our herd is on special diets.
What Else?
Scheduled visits are an opportunity to walk around the farm and meet all the horses and learn about the work of the MSSPA. These tours are not intended for a one-on-one meet and greet for a specific horse, or to start the adoption process. If you are interested in adoption, please learn more about adopting a horse from the MSSPA and fill out a preliminary adoption application.
